Process & System Lead (Engineering & Asset Management)
Poole, Dorset
£44,608 - £52,479 DOE Plus Benefits

The RNLI is a charity that has been saving lives at sea for over 190 years. We are in the midst of fast-paced, transformational change that will allow us to save more lives than ever in new and creative ways. Now, we are looking for a Process & System Lead to join our Engineering & Asset Management Team.

If you have extensive engineering or asset management experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive, lasting impact with a renowned charity.

Our lifeboat crews and Lifeguards need a dedicated, professional and talented team behind them so whatever the weather, they can operate to the highest standards and save lives. You will play a vital role in maximizing the RNLI’s capabilities and enabling us to reduce drowning in UK and Irish waters by a further 50%.

As the Process & System Lead, you will drive efficiency and compliance improvements across the Engineering & Asset Management function.

In this important role, you’ll assure the compliance of our lifesaving assets and supporting processes. You’ll identify ways to release existing resources and direct them towards our lifesaving activities.

Specifically, you will:

- Lead the development, enhancement, implementation and sustainment of engineering applications
- Ensure that the RNLI’s ERP technology truly reflects and supports engineering and asset management functions and processes
- Make sure that our AX Dynamics ERP system supports and underpins our processes
- Forecast future engineering process requirements into the AX Dynamics ERP system
- Support testing and training activities to ensure the successful delivery of new systems, programmes and solutions

To be considered, you will need:

- Significant practical engineering or asset management experience
- Experience of delivering improvements through the AX Dynamics ERP system
- An HNC, ideally an HND or degree level qualification, in an engineering or asset management discipline

The ideal Process & System Lead will have strong CI facilitation skills, but this is not essential. A recognised project management, Lean or Six Sigma qualification would also be beneficial.

Please note, the closing date is 18th June 2017. Interviews are scheduled to be held on the week commencing 3rd July 2017.

Our staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, we also look for applicants who share our commitment to living our RNLI values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping us work towards our goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using our expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
