Machine Shop Production Engineer / Manager

£30-32K depending on exp.

A well-established company, determined to grow their precision engineering business are looking to recruit an experienced manager to be responsible for the day to day running of the manufacturing workshop.

Purpose/Responsibilities:
Coordination and management of the workshop and general engineering team, to meet the current and future needs of the business. This is a supervisory / managerial role where you will be overseeing all activities within the workshop including scheduling work, managing staff and controlling work throughput.

- Ensure that work is undertaken to meet or exceed the customers' quality expectations and is managed within the budgets and timescales allocated to each project.
- Introduction of systems to produce detailed work plans and accurate Machine Shop schedules for the timely delivery of forward load project demands.
- To establish Machine Shop & Assembly routes and evaluate progress on all delivery dates and customer commitments.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure high standards of cost effective work are delivered to time, cost and quality as determined in the budget and work specifications.
- Initiate improvement plans to ensure that cost effective Machine Shop methods are delivered along with Quality and Health and Safety initiatives in parallel.
- To determine value engineered solutions, to design/manufacture issues.
- Through strong leadership, setting and upholding high standards in relation to: Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental Management, Human Resource Processes and Procedures, Company Image and Reputation.

Person Specification:

The candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of precision engineering and associated manufacturing operations. With extensive knowledge and experience of precision engineering and manufacturing which involved programming setting and operating of CNC machines.
