Our client is a rapidly growing and dynamic global retail specialist, focussing upon a niche and area of retail, they’re enjoying significant growth and expect this to continue due to acquisition of new trading partners and to general expansion of their market.

This is an exciting new role within a highly technologically advanced, numerate and commercially savvy team supporting operations, by providing promoting insightful analysis of the data. The role will head up a small but growing team, developing the regular reporting, leveraging analysis technologies (MS Stack), and further integrating analysis into other departments around our business. The role will be high profile within the exec with regular communication with senior stakeholders across the business particularly Marketing and Buying.

The role objectives are to lead in the capability for the production of meaningful commercial analysis of company data to the Retail Operations, Buying and Marketing departments – in the form of standard regular reports, ad-hoc information requests covering various initiatives and investigations. The role is also responsible for development of analysis functionality, making use of, shaping and developing the data warehouse / business intelligence cubes, user / reporting interfaces and strengthening their capability with these and other newer technologies. They are a Microsoft house, so experience with the MS stack would be an advantage – Power BI, PowerPivot etc

Key Responsibilities:
• Use the databases and cubes to ascertain the success of promotions, initiatives and changes made and provide feedback to the business on decisions made
• Support the business by making key performance indicators meaningful, and presentable to assist quick decision making
• Supervise and prioritise the requests made of the analysis team, agree the resource needs of the team, and delegate tasks appropriately
• Analyse sales, margin and stock results for trends and provide interpretation to department heads

Characteristics and experience for the role -

• Smart, presentable, clear communicator, able to influence
• Use of some or all of – Excel, Excel PowerPivot, Microsoft Power BI, knowledge of SQL, SAP BI, COGNOS, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS etc
