My client, a large local business, are currently recruiting for a Support and Engagement Officer to be based out of there busy Burton on Trent office.

My client is looking for someone to join them on a permanent basis offering a salary of £17,000-£18,500 pa dependant on experience, plus benefits.

This is a full time position working 40 hours a week, the hours will be between 8am and 7pm working 5 days out of 7, including weekends.

Job Description:

• Provide support for all clients, increasing their confidence and motivation to engage with services.

• Help meet identified and/or perceived needs of clients

• Assist the acquisition of independent living skills.

• Identify tenants who are finding it difficult to secure or sustain vocational training or employment opportunities and offer support and encouragement for them to fulfil their potential – to include CV preparation, job search and career counselling.

• To actively encourage and promote clients' participation in social and leisure activities and, where appropriate, be responsible for arrangements.

• To develop and lead appropriate activities

• Further the development of resident involvement in shaping service delivery.

• Perform daily Safety and Wellness checks.

• To work closely with other agency partners from the Voluntary and Statutory sector in providing support to residents.

• To motivate and work creatively with clients not engaging with support.

• To contribute as and when required to the support of clients across all housing and support sites

• Promote and encourage attendance at skills development and empowering programmes.

• To maintain Health & Safety compliance across all sites.

• To supervise and contractors/visitors when required.

• To ensure compliance with Safeguarding policy, including recognising and acting on any safeguarding concerns and escalating in the appropriate manner.

• To contribute towards the future development of the Housing services.

• To actively participate and promote fundraising within the organisation.

Further duties:

• To assist in providing cover and support to clients for Housing Support colleagues when absent.

• Supporting individuals through their journey lasting 1-2 years

• To be a member of the professional staff team and attend staff when required.

• To be part of the "on-call" duty Rota system.

• To undertake any other duties consistent with the post.

Other work related requirements:

• Willingness to undergo a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and to register with the DBS Update Service OR hold a satisfactory enhanced DBS check for the correct workforce plus existing registration for the DBS Update Service
