Technology Assistant - Data Quality

2x Temporary Contracts available (12 weeks)
£9.50 per hour
County Hall, Chelmsford

The Technology Assistant will use specific technical skills to deliver technology based services to Adults Operations customers, taking up data quality issues.

Operating within established frameworks and processes, the Technology Assistant will ensure that requests are resolved effectively and customers are kept fully informed of their progress using the appropriate communication channels.

The role is a mix of project based and business as usual activity and strong self management and organisation skills will be required from the post holder, and they will be both proactive and responsive, combining energy and enthusiasm with the tenacity and drive to see things through.


* Work as part of project or process teams as required under the new operating model, ensuring excellent cross functional output.
* Process lists of data quality issues, engaging with users where appropriate in order to identify the correct information to be recorded.
* Produce reports of data quality activities undertaken for use by the Technology Officer (Data Quality and User Management).
* Ensure a high level accuracy for all information recorded, ensuring that the information is timely, accurate and complete.
* Perform analysis of information to identify Data Quality issues and work with the Technology Officer (Data Quality and User Management) to seek resolution.
* Maintain confidential records, both manual and electronic.
* Work flexibly and collaboratively across structural boundaries in support of key outcomes.
* To contribute to development of organisational capability by taking ownership of your own training and development, including identifying and taking part in training and development activity and responding to feedback on performance.
* Thinking creatively, challenging the norms, and constructively challenging those around them (including those more senior) to ensure continuous improvement and commercial astuteness, and inspire the same in colleagues.
* Take responsibility for identifying and actioning areas of risk including Health and Safety and Business Continuity.

Knowledge, skills and experience

* Good general level of education, including English and Mathematics at GCSE grade A-C, or
* demonstrably equivalent abilities and good English oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
* Experience of working within a customer access environment and ability to use information
* technology and related systems (e.g. email, Word, Excel and Access).
* Demonstrable experience in delivering customer focused services which respect the diversity
* of customers and reduce or remove inequitable experiences
* Ability to use telephony and data retrieval systems to the required standard for the role.
* Understanding of Data Protection legislation and Freedom of Information legislation
