An OUTSTANDING Secondary school in Coventry are looking for an enthusiastic graduate to join their thriving secondary school as a Teaching Assistant from September 2017, to train as a Biology Teacher through Premier Pathways.

This Teaching Assistant vacancy is designed for a professional and inventive biology graduate who has a second class degree at the very least and is able to instil pupils with their passion for education. You should have a strong attitude and the belief that all challenging situations can be overcome with the right approach. You will be required to maintain a healthy learning experience in the school and, as a Teaching Assistant, be able to help students to achieve their full potential.

Premier Pathways is a 2 year Salaried PGCE programme allowing a graduate Teaching Assistant to qualify as a teacher whilst earning a salary.

The Premier Pathways PGCE and training will be provided by the University of Buckingham. The 2-year training programme is split in to 6 terms resulting in the achievement of QTS.

The first 2 terms will allow you to develop your interaction skills with pupils as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Mentor role, where you will lead small groups of pupils. You will be working in differing situations to build up your portfolio of skills and expertise.

During the following 2 terms your responsibility will increase as you become an unqualified teacher, teaching 0.5 timetable (50%) constantly improving your core skills in the classroom. In the final 2 terms you will teach a 0.8 timetable that will complete your development into an outstanding practitioner as you successfully achieve Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE from the University of Buckingham.
