We are recruiting for a pool of Learning Support Assistants to work within a college in West London. The college provides a range of courses and subjects, and has a recognised Support team for students with additional needs. The college will be enrolling a pool of up to 70 Learning Support Assistants and as such, there are plenty of opportunities for the right applicants.

The role will be a full time temporary contract starting the beginning of September. The hours of work are Term time, and would be based on the needs of each individual student. The needs of the students are varied, as some students are more independent than others. In this instance, a willingness to provide personal care, manage difficult and challenging behaviours, and work within a team is crucial. The students would have conditions ranging from Autism, epilepsy, Aspergers, and more. We are seeking applications from people with at least 1 year worth of relevant experience within these fields.

Essential Criteria:
* A Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Experience supporting students within Educational setting as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant.
* Good ICT skills, and the ability to use basic Microsoft functions.
* Ability to produce reports and observations where necessary
* Experience supporting students/clients with Challenging Behaviours
* Experience supporting students with personal care needs
* Ability to understand the issues of safeguarding and confidentiality.
* A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.

Desirable Criteria

* Epilepsy Awareness Training.
* Training within administering EpiPen
*Team Teach Training
* Administrating Medication
* Experience supporting students/clients who are non-verbal
* Knowledge and training within Makaton and PEC's
* Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students
* Experience of accurate record-keeping
* Ability to multi-task and assist team members where necessary
* Strong ability to adapt to changes with students needs
