PCB Operative & Assembler

Cotgrave – Nottinghamshire

£18,000 - £19,000 Basic Salary – 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme (after qualifying period)


Our client is a UK manufacturer of a range of Refrigeration Controls, Wireless Temperature & Environmental Monitoring Systems & Sensors. They are looking to recruit an experienced PCB/Assembly production operative to join their workshop team.

- The role will be responsible for the production of PCB components to be used in their product range using the relevant PCB production equipment within the workshop.
- This role will also complete product build of the product range to a finished level for shipping to customers.
- The successful candidate will also need the flexibility to assist with other functions within the workshop as directed by the Workshop Supervisor.


Areas of Responsibility

- Sign in PCB & Other basic build components from suppliers using the relevant company documentation and ensure these components are correctly stored within the relevant sections of the PCB/Product storage areas
- Operate the Solder Paste equipment, PCB Pick & Place equipment, PCB Flow Solder Ovens and Wave Solder machinery to ensure basic PCB boards are correctly pasted prior to PCB placement
- Complete quality checks and tests on finished PCB`s and complete rework required
- Carry out basic product assembly duties
- Carry out other duties as requested by the Production Supervisor and other managers


Candidate Profile

- The successful candidate will need to work well as part of a workshop team, be willing to learn a diverse range of product build skills and have a can-do attitude

- Ideally you will be an experienced PCB production operative with soldering experience and the desire to learn new skills. The ability to work on a varied workload that can be different each day.


Key Skill Required

- Experience of PCB manufacturing processes, to include:
- Pick & place machinery
- Solder paste machinery
- Flow solder machinery
- Wave solder machinery
- IPC trained (or willing to undertake IPC training)
- Assembly experience desirable – manual dexterity and hand strength are essential


Hours of work are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday with 30 minutes lunch break and 10-minute morning break, Friday 8.00am to 2.00pm with 10-minute morning break (40 hours per week)
