Kiddykare are supporting a well established nursery to recruit for a Deputy room leader needed in reading!

Main Purpose of Job
To provide high quality, inclusive care and education for the children in the Nursery in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. To be responsible for ensuring the effective, smooth day-to-day running of the nursery room.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To care for and educate the children in your care
• To provide for the individual physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of the children
• To provide a good role model for staff and to promote high standards of professional practice
• To work with the room leader to ensure an appropriate curriculum is offered within the nursery
• To work as a Key Person, to be responsible for a group of key children and to ensure that the Key Person system works effectively in the nursery
• To ensure that a range of suitable activities and experiences are provided on a day-to-day basis to meet the developmental needs of the children
• To ensure that the nursery environment and equipment are clean and well maintained
• To work in partnership with the parents/carers of the children in your care
• To ensure the effective induction of new children and parents to the nursery
• To lead the staff and student/trainee team within the nursery room when the room leader off on annual leave
• To participate in the induction of staff and students/trainees
• To ensure that written records are maintained appropriately
• To attend relevant staff training as required
• To attend relevant meetings and training as required

You will need to have a recognised level 3 childcare qualification, such as the NNEB, DCE, NVQ level 3 or equivalent and experience of being a nursery nurse.

Working hours are 40 hours a week, worked though shift patterns.

Salary is £18,015
