We are seeking a Purchase Ledger processor for a thriving South West construction and building company – based at the Newton Abbot regional office.

Working for a renowned regional employer, you will help to continue their reputation for excellent service and standards.

Regular activities in the Purchase Ledger role will include:

* Opening and sorting post, scanning and verifying invoices and ensuring accurate filing of all documents.
* Processing invoices and sub-contractor payments
* Processing purchase ledger journals to correct errors on purchase ledger accounts
* Maintaining bank details for sub-contractors
* Producing ‘Statements of payments and deductions’ for sub-contractors who are subject to deduction of tax
* Preparing weekly payment runs and raising cheques and remittances as required
* Preparing supplier statements
* Raising internal/external queries ensuring that they are actioned/chased on a regular basis
* Liaising with suppliers in respect of issues arising on payment and administration, answering all enquiries in a professional and friendly manner

The ideal Purchase Ledger clerk will have experience / knowledge of:

* processing of purchase ledger invoices and sub-contract ledger transactions
* preparing and sending weekly purchase ledger payments
* reconciliation of supplier accounts for monthly payment
* understanding of Construction Industry Scheme compliance (including verifying sub-contractors with HMRC) would be a distinct advantage.
