Information Governance Manager- Huntingdon- Temp to Perm- £40k/ £20ph

A fantastic opportunity is now available for a talented information governance professional to lead a highly skilled team serving three local authorities with the potential for further growth. Continuing work to align IG services within this recently created shared ICT service, and enabling each partner to achieve compliance with the new data protection regulation are two of the main challenges for the holder of this post. The post-holder will need to be able to work across all sites, and therefore own transport is essential.

The Information Governance Manager will report directly to the Head of IT and Digital, but will engage closely with the Senior Information Risk Owners at each organisation, as well as the Legal, HR and Audit functions. The post-holder will also be expected to manage the working groups that meet quarterly as engagement forums for the businesses.

We are looking for someone who has experience in the following areas:
-Data Protection A qualification in this area is essential, as is detailed understanding of the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation. The post-holder is likely to act as Data Protection Officer for all partners, and will need to be comfortable being the contact point for the Information Commissioner's Office.

-Access to Information experience of dealing with requests under Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations, as well as Subject Access Requests. Understanding of Open Data principles.

-Information Security Good technical knowledge, as well as understanding of good data handling practices. Knowledge of technical standards such as PSN, PCI DSS and ISO27001 would be a distinct advantage.

- Policy and Strategy Development The ability to develop policies and strategies across multiple partners.

- Incident Management Experience of dealing with incidents and data breaches, managing responses and developing learning from these.

Training Ability to design and deliver IG training. Experience with various delivery formats, including e-learning, 1 to 1 and group sessions.

The post-holder will also require the following qualities:

Excellent interpersonal skills and able to evangelise information governance as a value added service.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
Be able to build strong relationships across the businesses.
Have flexibility in their approach.
Capable of working autonomously across multiple locations and managing a geographically diverse team.
Have a good attention to detail, and understand the importance of good documentation.
