Assistant Flood & Coastal Risk Officer
Salary: £18,070 (up to £30,153 career progression) per annum

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Flood Risk Management team and assist with the delivery of essential flood improvements. The candidate should possess a minimum HNC/HND in a relevant subject and ideally experience with AutoCAD/GIS and a knowledge of flooding and its legislation.

The main purpose of this role is to support the Project Engineer and assist in the development and delivery of various flood improvement schemes including hard engineering and natural flood risk management techniques. You will also get involved in other flood risk management activities as required of the Lead Local Flood Authority, including liaising with members of the public, developers, consultants and other Risk Management Authorities to provide advice on land drainage and assist during a flood event and the subsequent recovery process.

We would be looking to appoint at the lower end of the scale however the posts are part of a career grade structure (D - £18,070 to F - £30,153) which provides scope to progress above the advertised grade, subject to qualifications, experience and availability of position.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English
