EslingKenny are currently recruiting on behalf of an exciting London based wine merchant who are seeking to grow their team with the crucial appointment of a Finance Business Partner. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fulfilling the ambitious business plan of the Directors including significant organic growth, diversification and acquisition.

Applicants must be commercially minded, ambitious and keen to grow with the business and understand it in its entirety. The successful applicant will be qualified in either CIMA, ACA or ACCA.

Reporting to: The Directors and the Board.

Duties & responsibilities, including, but not exclusively:

• Form a close working relationship with the company Directors and other members of the Board
• Provide leadership to the Board's Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position
• Take overall control of the company’s accounting function
• Present key financial information to the Board including monthly management and annual accounts
• Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
• Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
• Lead and develop the finance operation
• Ensure company budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed
• Take ultimate responsibility for the company's cash management procedures
• Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
• Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate
• Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors
• Implement and oversee controls of stocks advising on stock holding quantities where appropriate
• Oversee the management of the company’s administrative functions, ensuring the administration and facilities of the company are sufficient, efficient and cost effective
• Manage, train and motivate the Finance and Operations teams
• Ensure effective use and development of IT for accounting and management information
• co-ordinate the development of the company’s IT requirements in conjunction with the company software migration
• Manage company insurance requirements
• Manage company legal requirements


• CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified
• Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, enterprising, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Exceptional communication skills at all levels
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to handle critical decision-making
• High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
• Vivacious, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success
• Management skills
