The Production Engineer shall provide technical support to the Operations
department to improve operations processes and resolve technical issues.

* Lead and support operations to resolve technical issues, ensuring all
investigation work is documented, by developing robust production processes
and improving product designs, with the aim to reduce cost and improve
reliability, while complying with current quality standards
* Define and document clear written specifications and procedures to direct the
Operations team in effective and efficient product assembly and test
* Develop, document and improve required tooling and associated test jigs, in a
timely manner, by liaising with the design and manufacturing teams, to
guarantee product quality and operational productivity and efficiency
* Manage and review all operational product and process documentation and
ERP system information changes (including bills of materials, product routings
and design change requests)
* Liaise with the design and manufacturing teams to review and develop
suitable operational processes and testing systems, to successfully
manufacture high quality new products which meet customer specifications
and delivery expectations
* Undertake detailed analysis using statistical methods, providing relevant Key
Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evidence process weakness and measure
improvement whilst proposing and implementing corrective actions
* Establish productive, dynamic, working relationships with the Engineering,
Design and Manufacturing departments, prioritising the required work and
maintaining regular associations through meetings and communications to
discuss any issues
* Contribute to and deliver as part of the production engineering team in driving
continuous improvement and ensuring departmental targets are met and
exceeded wherever possible
* Maintain a safe working environment ensuring all company and regulatory
standards are achieved at all times

* Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Lean manufacturing or six sigma qualifications preferred

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and
* Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of IFS ERP software and Microsoft SharePoint along with a basic
knowledge of Altium Designer would be beneficial
* Experience in the use of the electrical, mechanical and optical measuring
equipment would be advantageous
* Previous experience within the LED Lighting industry would be beneficial
* Knowledge and experience in LABVIEW would be beneficial.

A strong electronic engineering background including significant experience of fault
finding at component level is a necessity. A wide range of experience in an
operations environment, ideally gained in SME manufacturing companies within the
electronics industry is a significant advantage.
