Our partner is currently engaged in some of the most challenging and innovative automotive projects of all time. As a result of continued success & profitability for our client, we now have an excellent opportunity available for an Engineering Database Coordinator to join their vehicle design, development and engineering centre in Surrey, UK.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Engineering Database Manager, you will be responsible for the creation and management of all part information within the Engineering Database and the structure of these parts within the Bill of Materials (BoM).

Working with the company's Design, Engineering, Visualisation and Purchasing personnel, you will ensure that the BoM is accurate with regards to part content and structure. You will be required to generate vehicle BoM status reports and to provide this information to all areas of the business as required.

You will also be responsible for producing regular status reports on cost and weight of parts and for managing the release of all parts including the storage and transfer of CAD data.

Furthermore, you will be expected to work closely with the:

  • Design team to ensure that all parts are created, recorded and released correctly, with accurate part information to facilitate the procurement and manufacture of these parts, and
  • Workshop, supplying accurate prototype BoM data and associated drawings, ensuring that any build changes are documented correctly.

Experience and Qualifications:

It is anticipated that you will be educated to at least A' Level standard with a good understanding of mathematics.

Given the nature of the responsibilities detailed above, you will also need to be computer literate and able to demonstrate experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. You will also need to be highly organised, analytical and have a keen eye for detail.

An interest in motor vehicles is preferred, along with an understanding of the key components that feature in a modern motor vehicle.

The successfully appointed Coordinator will be a self-motivated individual capable of working under their own initiative as well as meeting tight deadlines as part of a team.
