About the role

They are currently looking to appoint a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer in their  new Bristol office.

You will be part of the multi-disciplinary management team servicing clients in the South-West of England and South-Wales, while also engaging with the Practice-wide national structural & civil engineering discipline management.

Primary duties will include:

- Delivery of the engineering service through multi-disciplinary as well as solo appointments
- Undertaking projects of a variety of sizes, sectors and complexity, including project cost control
- Providing specialist expert advice on technical issues
- Business development activities

Working on a range of projects predominately for clients in the public sector (education, healthcare, blue light, defence, utilities), this role provides an exciting opportunity to develop within a dynamic team supported by a medium-sized multi-disciplinary consultancy with 11 offices across the UK.

About you

With the help of a dynamic, enthusiastic, responsible and practical person this team is looking to expand. This person needs to be able to work independently; but also has the desire and capabilities to grow and manage a small Structural Engineering team and undertake business development activities in the region.

Ideally you will have:

- Significant relevant experience gained in a UK consultancy environment
- Superior level of technical knowledge of all type of structural designs (concrete / steel / timber / masonry) in line with British Standards and Eurocodes
- Good understanding of forms of appointment and construction contracts
- Team leadership & management skills
- Knowledge of BIM / Revit Structures - desirable
- Chartered Engineer (ICE or IStructE) or nearing chartered status
- Full UK driving licence
