I am working with a leading Local Authority in North Wales in regards to an Assistant Building Surveyor opportunity based in Wrexham. The postholder will be experienced in carrying out measured and technical surveys to properties, along with preparation of drawings and contract documents for the full range of works relating to property maintenance. In addition the postholder must be a good communicator and have knowledge of computer systems applicable to service provision.

The Role:

* Undertake inspections/surveys of properties to enable planned maintenance works to be effectively planned and implemented.
* Carrying out site supervision of contracts by both the Direct Labour Organisation and Provate Contractors.
* Assist in ppreparing detailed specifications for works of various trades.
* Provide information and data on the progress of contracts and to maintain accurate records of all work completed and outstanding on the contracts.
* Liaison with Contractors, tenants and other departments with issues arising from on-site works.
* Maintaining a working relationship with other Councik Departments and appropriate outside bodies to ensure efficient operation and control of contracts in accordance with statutory requirements.


* Ideally 2 years experience of surveying vacant houses in a social housing context
* BSc in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience
