A leading international property and infrastructure group is looking for a Project Manager to join their team in the rail and surface rail sector. With operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and America they are committed to creating and delivering innovative and sustainable property and infrastructure solutions for future generations.

This leading consultancy offers a range of expertise from development and investment management to construction and asset and property management. their areas of expertise cover aviation, commercial, defence, education, healthcare, heritage and arts, justice, rail and infrastructure, residential, retail and technology.

This dynamic team provides cost management services to the Thameslink programme. They acts as principal consultants by overseeing £4.5 billion worth of redevelopment plans. The key requirement of this role is to manage cost planning and commercial management through the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post-completion.


* Work on larger or more complex projects or may be assigned responsibility for a number of smaller projects.
* Provide advice at a strategic level at the project inception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client's overall objectives
* Lead the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
* Establish effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project delivery
* Deliver assigned projects to meet client requirements and achieve business outcomes
* Ensuring that H&S is the highest priority on all our projects and supporting our clients in the delivery of a safe working environment
* Managing project budgets
* Scheduling activities, managing risk and maximising financial return and opportunities
* Managing the integration of project work streams - including resolution of key interface issues
* Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders on key issues to resolve project constraints
* Providing clients with relevant, concise and accurate reporting information
* Analysing performance and commercial data and advising our clients on appropriate actions to achieve optimal outcomes
* Providing direction and supervision to assigned supporting staff
* Establishing and maintaining good, professional and pro-active working relationships with Contractors and suppliers
* Planning and management of procurement exercises
* Negotiate and administer all project agreements with outside parties


* Ideal candidates are likely to be degree qualified in a construction or engineering related discipline
* H&S knowledge and experience
* Chartered status or working towards it
* Appropriate PM qualification (APMP or equivalent)
* Experience advising or working for clients on the delivery of infrastructure projects
* Ability to make sense of a broad range of information, determine appropriate strategies and implement them for maximum client value
* Experience of project delivery through all stages of the life cycle
* An understanding of client delivery processes and standards.
* Delivery experience in one or more of the following sectors - Highways, Rail
* Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to successfully manage and deliver projects
* The ability to manage a team and/or control multiple projects via good communication skills
* Extensive practical experience of administering contracts under NEC Option A form will be a distinct advantage
* Experience of working on major infrastructure projects also highly desirable
