Position: Service Sales Manager (Municipal Water)

Location: Birmingham

Salary Guide: £50,000 - £55,000 plus excellent benefits

Our client provides complete solutions for water, wastewater and biosolids treatment, delivering turnkey design and build projects for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, THP plants, anaerobic digestion and waste to energy solutions.

They are recruiting for a Service Sales Manager who will report to their Business Development Director for Municipal Water Market. The position will be responsible for business development for allocated areas and key client accounts to ensure the maintenance of forecast booking and revenues and achieving year on year growth consistent with the company's overall strategy.

The position will require activity involved in prospecting, selling, pursuing and winning targeted sales and service opportunities in designated areas and with allocated key clients. Identify, build, and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospects to drive bookings in support of monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue targets.

Develop strategic business development plans for designated areas and key accounts and identify future potential markets or product development opportunities.

Recommend marketing programs to drive awareness and lead generation initiatives for capital and service with both direct and influencers of the business. Attend and participate as a representative of the company at regional water Industry conferences and trade shows as appropriate.

Responsibilities will include:

* Producing strategic business plans to grow the capital and service elements of the business
* Key point of contact for their municipal clients during the sales and after sales cycle
* Targeting existing and new customers to grow the service business
* Updating the SMS in line with the Business Development Director (BDD)
* Contribution to the prequalification and tendering processes identifying where high service potential is a key factor
* Selling and creating new business to meet annual/monthly targets for capital and sales
* Working with sister companies to achieve new business, providing reports and supporting
* Development of specific products and services.
* Maintaining the CRM database, updating current contact, company and opportunities weekly
* Working with the Business Development Director to ensure budgets are met and delivered accordingly
* Reviewing tenders that were not won and provide reports to the BDD

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

* Educated to degree level (or equivalent work related experience) in an engineering or related discipline
* Post graduate study, would be advantageous.
* Good understanding of technical / process areas.
* Current business development experience (within the Water industry would be preferable).
* Proven track record in a technical sales role and or service and maintenance support experience.
* Strategic understanding of the water industry, business plans and regulatory market conditions.
* Proactive and professional in approach with ability to think laterally and seek and promote opportunities.
* Experience in delivering presentations and dealing with people at all levels.
* Experience leading and preparing client prequalification documentation.
* Understanding of the tendering process.
* Experience of launching new processes to the market.
* Affiliation with industry organisations.
* Formal sales training or relevant qualification would be advantageous
