Due to an exciting period of expansion and investment they now have a new permanent position for a Machining Manager. If you are looking to progress you career this is the move for you. The Role

  • The Machining Unit is a modern manufacturing unit utilising grinding, CNC turning and milling techniques including 5-Axis.
  • The Machining Manager has responsibility for all machining operations and will be required to provide strong and focussed leadership to the machining Unit to ensure output, efficiency and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Responsibility for departmental man-management, house-keeping and health & safety is also a requirement.
  • Additionally, the Machining Manager will be expected to contribute to recommendations and the implementation of continuous improvement activities to improve skill, output, efficiency and quality within the department.

The Person

  • Experience in working with CNC lathes, including live tooling, XYZ Proturn lathes and HAAS milling machines and machining centres will be preferred.
  • Additionally, experience in FANUC and EdgeCAM programming and Shadowgraph and CMM inspection equipment would be advantageous.
  • You will ideally be time served.
  • In order to satisfy the technical requirements of this role, the successful candidate will be a time served machinist with a minimum HND in a mechanical or production engineering discipline and will have the ability to interpret engineering drawings and to program, set and run a variety of turning, milling and grinding machines.
  • It is essential that the Machining Manager is a hands-on, motivational man-managers, excellent communicators and have the ability to make accurate judgements and identify appropriate courses of action to meet both short and long term objectives.
