This role is for a key position in our expanding rail business. We are looking to add a graduate to our Electrification team for an initial 1 year contract with a view to going permanent beyond this. The post would suit either a newly graduated candidate or a 2nd year looking for a 1 year placement.

We require a passionate, driven and enthusiastic person to join our strong experienced team of Electrical engineers, desginers and Project Managers. Someone who has the electrical theoretical knowledge and is keen to learn and gain valuable real life experience in the Rail/civils sector.

The purpose of this job position is to assist various operational departments throughout BCM Construction.

You will specialise in the Electrification department and will gain training/experience to become a CRE/CEM in Electrical Design or construction.

The candidate will have an opportunity to work alongside experienced managers in the HSQE department, operations department, design department and gain valuable on site experience.

The Candidate will be given exposure to our main clients within the rail industry and will be given an opportunity to spend time in the various departments and companies of the BCM Group.

Support the Project Teams - The Candidate will assist with office administration, on-site administration, HSQE administration and will be expected to work weekend/abnormal hours. You will gain on site experience by working closely with the site teams.

Support Senior Project Manager & Head of Operations - You will be given opportunity to work alongside our Senior Management team and Head of Rail Projects. You will attend various operational meetings and will shadow some of our most experienced Senior Managers.

Support Project Manager and Commercial Manager - You will gain valuable experience by working alongside an experienced Project Manager and Commercial Manager. You will attend progress meetings with the client and attend BCM internal project and commercial meetings where you will assist with progress reports and minute taking.

Assist the Health/Safety Advisors & Environmental Manager - You will get an opportunity to work alongside our very experienced HSQE Department. BCM put safety first all the time so you will be attending various Safety and Environmental workshops. You will also get an opportunity to join various safety initiatives/working groups. You will assist the HSQE team with administration, incident reports and collate information for periodic KPI’s.

Support Site Manager & Construction Manager - You will work closely with the BCM Site Managers and Construction Managers. This will allow you to gain crucial on site experience. You will assist with daily project paperwork and attend site during critical programme works. You will gain valuable knowledge on how to plan weekly construction works.

Attend project meetings - The Candidate will attend project, design, commercial and construction meetings. The Candidate will be required to take minutes and ensure actions are closed out where necessar


HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering

17th edition accreditation


Rail electrification experience or electrical construction work on civils projects. Work experience is preferable but not a necessity.
