Production Engineer

Location: Staines/Rickmansworth/Luton/Stevenage

Salary: £40,000 rising to £45,000 over 18 months

Shift: 37 hour week, no shifts

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a production engineer to join a market leading company within the water industry.

As a member of our Engineering Team you will be directly contributing to our vision through your core tasks and responsibilities.

Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities

The Production Engineer (PE) reports to the Engineering Manager within the Production Department, part of the companies Wholesale Operations group.

The PE will represent the interests of the business at all stages of asset management across our Production operations, including the Capital Delivery Programme. Responsibilities include liaising with Production colleagues to identify investment opportunities, justification of needs, developing clear requirements and scopes, and representing Affinity Water in the delivery and commissioning of capital projects. The PE will provide technical and operational expertise as a key member of the project team whilst ensuring the companies Standards and specifications are met. The PE will work with a number of delivery partners, internal teams and external contractors, and will be responsible for managing some capital projects.

Production Engineer Essential Skills and Experience

  • Academic qualifications (Degree/HND or similar) in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in an engineering role
  • High level understanding of asset management processes and whole life costing
  • Data analysis skills to support investment decision making
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in written form
  • Highly motivated self starter, capable of working alone and as part of a project team
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Skills:

  • Water Industry experience
  • Qualified in Project Management (APM or PRINCE)
  • ICA/SCADA/PLC experience
  • Incorporated/Chartered Engineer status, continuing professional development
  • LV distribution, MCC's, Instrumentation, HV switching
