My clients produce's aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, cement and cement related materials. They are part of a large International Group, which has leading global positions in aggregates, cement and concrete. My client is split into four business lines - aggregates, concrete, asphalt and contracting and cement - which together operate around 300 manufacturing sites and employ over 3,500 people.

They currently have a leading opportunity for an experience Highway's Estimator to join their location in Loughborough. As an Estimator you will;

1.Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential customers.

2.Build up the cost of allocated tenders and quotes.

3.Liaise with Operational and QS staff in quote/tender preparation where necessary.

4.Ensure contract requirements and terms and conditions do not place the company at risk.

5.Participate, as required, on selected quality submissions and similar.

6.Interrogate performance on Contracts against estimate and propose improvements to systems and procedures.

7.Maintain regular communication with selected customers to establish:
a.Prospective works
b.Position on financial submissions.
c.Early notification of awards

8.Generally promote the company in a professional and courteous manner to achieve preferential information and treatment.

*Understand the Regional Commercial Teams targets (Revenue/Volume/Margin) and work with RCM to achieve it.
*Ensure that all weekly/monthly reports as well as ad hoc requirements are submitted by the prescribed timescale set down.
*Work to Hanson Contracting processes to ensure that all internal sign offs are in place prior to acceptance of our offer.
*Work with Aggregates and RCM to ensure we target work in accordance with Regional Commercial Development Plan. Ensure full visibility of major opportunities to Hanson as a whole.
*Challenge and support both operations and quantity surveyors at meetings or informally to identify new working practices and obtain feedback (negative and positive) on existing projects.
*Identify and develop relationship with customers so that we become their supplier of choice
