National Building Services consultancy are seeking to appoint an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer for their Central London office. As highly respected MEP Consultancy they have a track record of working across the Residential, Leisure, Education, Retail, Healthcare, Cultural and Commercial sectors, for clients ranging from the University of London, M&S & BMW though to Boeing, Capgemini & Catlin Insurance.

Their London Office is present undertaking a number commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects in the City of London and as such as seeking to employ the services of an intermediate mechanical design engineer to join their expand their team. Reporting into an Associate Director you will quickly be provide the opportunity to undertake lead HVAC engineer duties and the support to progress onto becoming a Senior Engineer, overall duties will include;

• When acting as lead engineer undertake project management duties,
• Undertake surveys and produce technical reports,
• Take part in client and design team meetings,
• Produce conceptual and detailed HVAC design solutions to achieve the client’s brief,
• Ensure design solutions meet industry regulations and low carbon targets,
• Prepare, ready for tender, specifications, designs, drawings, equipment schedules and contract documentation,
• Attend site to review technical compliance of installations,

The role will suit an intermediate mechanical engineer that is looking to join a practice where there is opportunity for progression and to take ownership of your own projects moving swiftly into a Senior Engineers position. To be considered you will need to possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer working within the Building Services Industry as well as holding qualifications to at least HNC / HND level in a relevant subject such as Building Services or Mechanical Engineering. It is also essential you have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and are confident within a client facing role, and will ideally have gained some exposure to Hevacomp, IES or similar
