Our client is looking to recruit a Commercial Manager for a project in Saudi Arabia

They are a leading dealer of prime high quality heavy engineering equipment, focused primarily in the construction sector in Saudi Arabia. They are a multi franchise business with global brands and have many years of strong growth. We are seeking a Commercial Manager with high energy, to drive the business forward, to implement change consistent with industry best practice, and a manager able to motivate staff to new levels. This role is seen as deputizing for the General Manager in his absence and as a grooming role for eventual succession.

Responsible for;

GENERAL COMMERICAL OPERATIONS

- Manage and control the commercial activities of the business including operational profitability, franchise stability and growth, budgeting and performance measurement and general staff harmony.
- Lead the teams across the identified Saudi markets to deliver and exceed the agreed business results through processes and activities which meet the company`s standards.
- Develop and provide sustained growth of the after sales market including the workshops, spare parts, accessories and consumables.
- Maintain and implement the highest standards of service and to provide continuous review and improvement in those standards.

OPERATIONAL PROFITABILITY

- Provide and manage the support services for efficient running of the branches, including product marketing and management, advertising, promotions and logistics.
- Focus on maximizing profitability of major and minor franchises.
- Establish the optimal sales pricing of products and the optimal buying prices of products from the suppliers thereby maximizing gross profit and achieving optimal sales volumes for the business.
- Product management and marketing of all the product lines of the business including growth of the main product lines and the development and growth of the minor product lines.
- Maximize the gross profitability of the entire commercial operation and to minimise and control the costs associated with achieving that task.
- Interact efficiently with the Finance and Administration departments for the purpose of extending finance credit to customers within acceptable constraints so as to limit the extent of risk to the business.
- Develop the after sales market of the business to make up a significant proportion of total company business.

FRANCHISE STABILITY AND GROWTH

- Maintain and enhance the existing quality franchise dealerships, to investigate and propose complimentary quality franchise opportunities in line with the company strategy and image.
- Establish a strong and effective relationship with the company`s suppliers and customers.
- Be responsible for brand distribution / visibility / activities and responding proactively in an innovative and effective manner to competition and market developments.
- Develop new products & services to broaden the customer offering.
- Identify, assess and recommend new business development opportunities including new agencies, product diversification and regional expansion.
- Manage, develop & implement strategic plans for growth.

BUDGETING AND PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

- In conjunction with the Finance department prepare the annual commercial Budget for presentation to the General Manager.
- Manage the business within the approved budget and measure the business activities against that budget.
- Review, implement and manage suitable performance measurement policies and indicators, risk assessment procedures, business planning and forecasting processes.

GENERAL STAFF HARMONY

- Lead and focus the branch and head office commercial operation departments in implementing change and efficiencies.
- Maintain and implement staff recognition and reward policies to ensure good staff harmony and productivity.
- In conjunction with the Human Resources department recommend and implement procedures and policies for succession planning and staffing.

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Manage people from different nationalities and cultures
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong character
- Positive mental attitude
- Ability to work in highly challenging environment that is constantly changing
- Arabic language skills preferred, though not essential

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- 15 to 20 years experience
- Must have experience in Construction Heavy Equipment sector
- Must have experience of dealing with multiple franchises
- Preferably experience in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Long term commitment required

Salary is 16,000 SAR monthly (4,267 USD) plus Projected Profit Share at 0.75% total company profits 35,000 SAR (9,333 USD) plus many other benefits including a fully maintained vehicle.
