Management Accountant

Salary between £26,000 and £30,000 dependent on experience

Full time position Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00

Purpose of the position

To collate, input and provide timely management information, analysis and reporting of the financial performance of the business that will enable the management team to make informed business decisions.

Day to Day operations

The day to day role of the management accountant will be inputting purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, credit and debtor control, cash flow forecasts, preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, PAYE and project evaluation. All to be entered and monitored through accountancy software.

Principal responsibilities

·collating and inputting purchase and sales ledger information;

·payroll administration;

·controlling income, cash flow and expenditure;

·project costings and variance analysis;

·Vat, CIS and PAYE submissions;

·collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements;

·undertaking research into factors affecting performance;

·monthly management accounts;

·liaising with managerial staff and other colleagues;

·keeping pace with financial regulations and legislation;

Key interfaces

This role will interface with all aspects of the business internally. The core areas will be Sales, Manufacture, Purchasing, Installation and Design. In addition, the role will be required to interface externally with customers, suppliers and stakeholders

Experience

We are ideally looking for someone with a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role who is looking for a new challenge. You should want to further your career and be able to demonstrate ambition to grow this role.

You should be able to demonstrate knowledge and use of an accountancy software package such as Sage.

If possible, you should have worked in a construction company previously.

Accreditations

Minimum A level educated, but preferably a degree or similar in professional accountancy.

Accredited with the Association of Charted Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) or similar

Salary and Conditions:

29 days holiday including bank holidays per year taken at set intervals in agreement with the Company. Additional holidays will be accrued for loyalty to the business.
