Training and Competence Specialist

Responsibilities

Training and Competence:

  • Design, implement and manage a risk-based Training & Competence scheme for advisory staff to incorporate the requirements of the Senior Manager’s Regime and the Certification Regime
  • Monitor adviser Key Performance Indicators, following up with One-to-One’s where deemed appropriate
  • Distribute online staff tests and Continuing Professional Development assignments
  • Undertake competency & skills assessments such as role plays and observations on Registered Individuals
  • Identify learning gaps and design training, recovery and improvement plans as appropriate
  • Liaise with the Risk & Compliance team to ensure effective communication of training and competence across the business.
  • Coach and support adviser development of skills and knowledge
  • Maintain records of supervisory interactions

Compliance Support:

  • Handle queries and provide support for advisers regarding compliance matters
  • Ad hoc project work to support the compliance function
  • Provide input into the Advice Policy Committee, Internal Procedures and Compliance Requirements as appropriate

Onboarding of Advisers and Appointed Representatives:

  • Assist with the assessment and onboarding of new AR firms and individuals
  • Deliver staff inductions including data protection, anti-money laundering and ethics training and testing
  • Manage outbound advisers and firms

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate personal professional standards, with an ethical and customer centric approach to the role
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation, including Directors, Senior Management, Internal & External Partners, Advisers and Support Staff.
  • High level of attention to written communications and numerical detail.
  • Ability to work well with others across multiple departments.
  • Highlighting and pre empting problems and offering solutions proactively.
  • The ability to identify what needs to be done, prioritize and deliver to requirements - Key Planning and organising According to the priorities given and meeting various internal and regulatory deadlines.
  • Ability to observe client meetings, assess adviser strengths and development areas and provide effective coaching and feedback to facilitate adviser development
  • Knowledge of the following would be highly beneficial: Software - Citrix Hosted Desktop. Microsoft Windows, iOS and Android Operating Systems Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) Microsoft CRM Dynamics Intelligent Office. Hardware - PC and Laptop Tablet Mobile Telephony (Samsung Officeserv).
  • Candidates should hold the RQF Diploma level 4 qualification in Regulated Financial Planning. Ideally candidates will have achieved the full Diploma level 6.
  • Experience Minimum 5 years financial services experience.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE UK INLCUDING OCASSIONAL OVERNIGHT STAYS
