1st and 2nd Line Technical Support

Our client is looking for a Technical Support Engineer with experience of working in an IT Support role. Based in their head office in Swindon, Wiltshire, there is the opportunity to use your existing skills and develop your technical knowledge.

Responsibilities of the Technical Support Engineer

Based within a small, friendly team, the role will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to both office and remote based staff. This will cover such issues as:

* Phone and email technical support
* Troubleshooting, logging and progressing hardware and software issues
* Deploying PCs, including new installations and the upgrade/decommissioning of equipment
* Installing and configuring software
* Carrying out routine planned maintenance and managed patch rollouts

Key Skills / personal traits required when applying for the Technical Support Engineer

* Experience of working in an IT Helpdesk environment
* Desktop and software support experience
* Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, especially Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012
* Good TCP/IP experience
* Understanding of network fundamentals

Desirable attributes for the Technical Support Engineer

* It would be highly beneficial if you have experience of Exchange 2013 administration
* MCP Certification

The role is based at our client's head office in Swindon Wiltshire this is commutable from the M4 corridor, however, the client is based on a site where public transport is not easily accessed so it would be highly beneficial to have your own driving licence and access to your own transport.
