My client a well established company based in West Ealing, who service and maintain rail rolling stock are looking for a Service Engineer with an Electronics/Electrical background,

Purpose of the Job

To provide workshop and field repairs to all types of electronic and electro mechanical equipments, and to provide service support to meet the customers needs/requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* To carry out repair as requeste to machines and equipment
* To modify items / systems
* To commision new and modified/repaired machines and equipment
* To complete all required record keeping in a timely and accurate manner
* Will be required to work anywhere in the UK and occasionally abroad
* To supply out of hours assistance as part of the ON Call roster
* To work analog and electro mechanical devices and their inteface with digital system

Academic/TechnicalQualifications

City & Guilds in Electrical/Electronic or equivalent or above.

In return the company are offering :

* Permanent role ( not contract)
* Salary £30, 000 per annum - we have a salary grading system for our engineers and this is the starting rate. ( this salary structure will be explained at interview to the candidate)
* Salary is paid monthly - on the last Thursday of the given month.
* Basic Hours of work 08:00 to 16:45 Mon To Thurs & 08:00 to 12:00 Fri - Total 37 Hours per week basic
* Overtime is paid at flat/ basic rate only and also an additional plus payment of a shift allowance is payable when overtime is worked
* Unsociable hours as required & Be prepared to work away from home from time to time.
* The candidate must be capable of holding a PTS Medical & Drugs & Alcohol Certificate - to be sponsored by Plasser UK
* Full, clean, manual driving licence required - Company pool vehicle will be used
* Holiday 4 week 1 day in first year of employment
* Holiday 5 weeks 1 day from second year of employment and thereafter
* Probation 3 months
* The candidate will automatically be enrolled to a contributory pension after 3 months service
