Mechanical & Electrical maintenance technician - Water

Our client is a leading Water utility company based in the south of England. They are currently looking for Mechanical & Electrical maintenance technicians to provide proactive and reactive maintenance on Wastewater treatment works.

-The role will be involving a variety of maintenance activities which will give you the opportunity to diversify your skills, working on various pumps and associated control gear, 3 phase motors, starters, electronic control systems, automatic valves and penstocks, PLC's, variable speed drives as well as process equipment.
-Fault diagnostics, emergency break-down repairs, modifications as well as minor installation work for the plant.

-Inspection and testing of installations to ensure compliance with current Standards & Regulations.
-Carrying out maintenance and fault-finding in compliance with current Standards.
-Compliance with the Health and Safety regulations and client required Health and Safety standards.
-The role may require the technician to take part in a call out Rota (typically 1 in 6 weeks) on an emergency call out basis which will allow the technician to receive additional payment.

Skills & Qualifications
-BTEC/HNC in a combined Mechanical and Electrical discipline (desirable).
-City &Guilds Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, or NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering ideal.
-Proven track record and technical hands-on field experience in maintenance, ideally with some experience in the water industry.
-Physically fit and able to be trained in safety procedures e.g. Confined Spaces.
-Full UK driving License - travel will be required (company vehicle provided)
-My client will consider upskilling single skilled engineers based on their experience.

Package & Benefits
-You will receive an annual salary of £23,000-£35,000 per year. On top of this you will be applicable for yearly pay increases, company vehicle, lucrative pension scheme, loyalty awards and additional benefits.
-There may be a call out Rota 1 in 6 weeks allowing for additional overtime and rate premiums for normal and out of hours' work. You also receive a standby premium for each week you are on call.
-Progression and movement within the company is also available.
