Business Development Associate - Consultancy, Life Sciences

The organisation is seeking candidates for a Business Development Associate role in their Life Sciences Sales team in London. This Business Development Associate will be responsible for establishing and building relationships with life sciences executives in Europe over the phone, by WebEx, and in-person. This person will be responsible for regularly presenting the company's platform to prospects and clients to increase awareness of their brand, generate new client leads, use the CRM to track and map client accounts, and work in collaboration with field representatives across EMEA.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • The Business Development Associate will:
  • engage key constituents at clients in order to articulate the company's brand and tailor their value proposition to those clients;
  • "map" client organisations to identify potential new buyers/users of their services and promoters within;
  • Create account plans;
  • prospect for new users;
  • execute on account growth objectives in consultation with head of sales; and
  • push out new product, service and pricing initiatives to clients and collect customer feedback on those initiatives.

Keep updated on the macro trends in the life sciences industry and articulate how the organisation can help.

Key performance metrics will include client interactions scheduled and completed, increases in client revenue, new subscriber revenues, user engagement measures, client project volume and number of active users. The Business Development Associate will be responsible for establishing relationships with assigned clients. This person will report to the VP of Life Sciences Sales in EMEA and will work closely with client service professionals and other salespeople.

Profile

Business Development Associate - Consultancy, Life Sciences

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required in addition to 1-3 years of demonstrated success selling information services and solutions; experience selling to pharma professionals is a plus
  • The ability to build strong and lasting relationships with key decision makers in client firms;
  • Proven track record of success in selling;
  • Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated;
  • A strong passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually challenging issues.
  • Superior verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • A demonstrated ability to read and understand people
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning about the life sciences industry

Job Offer

A basic Salary of £40,000 - £50,000 plus Bonus and excellent company benefits
