Residential Care Manager
Children\'s Residential Home,  Essex Area

Main Purpose of Job:
To help create and build an effective and efficient management of the home. To work within, and ensure effective delivery of the Main Responsibilities and Duties identified within the role of Care Manager. Please note that this is mainly a Monday -Friday 9am-5pm job with on call hours over the weekend.  You would only be expected to work over the weekend in an emergency situation if the matter could not be dealt with over the phone.

Job Purpose: 
- To assist in the day to day management of the home and to safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people
- In the absence of the Manager, to manage the home efficiently and effectively in all aspects of the day to day running of the home
- To ensure that the Home complies with regulations and work towards meeting the requirements, standards, aims and objectives, policies and procedures of the home.
- To assist in the develop and management of the staff team in working with the children.
- To help represent the home`s mission, vision and values at the highest levels and provide best possible outcomes for all children
- To ensure full compliance with all regulatory bodies, including: Ofsted, Fire Authority, Health and Safety Executive and Environmental Health
- To take full responsibility for the home 

Special Conditions:
- To work as an integral member of a team.
- To supervise staff and to assume a lead responsibility for the effective management of the home
- To work varying shifts, which include early morning and late evenings.  May be required at times to work weekends and bank holidays.
- Sleeping in duties are also required for which an additional payment is made.

 The Home:
- Children's residential home for kids in care. Most children having behavioural problems.
- New home to open in the Essex areas.
- Expanding company due to open up several new homes to add to existing portfolio

Must Have:
Previous experience either as a Deputy Manager or Home Manager ideally within a children's residential home working with young people within care as well as a good knowledge of the children's home regulations and the quality standards, childcare qualifications would benefit but not essential.

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare or similar.  

Ideally be a driver with a clean license.
