A very successful and well established automotive group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Workshop Controller to join their busy dealership based in the Stockport area.
You will be tasked with supervising a team of Technicians to make sure the work is done to a high standard while at a reasonable rate. It will be your job to make sure the vehicle goes through the workshop in a seamless manner while liaising with the Service Advisors who can keep the customer fully up to date. This is a vital role to make sure the Technicians keep on their toes but do all the work in the right way. The role will be busy so we need someone who isn't scared of working closely with the team and building a strong process.
The Role
To manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets
Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met
To calculate and manage the effective use of the workshop
Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix
Identify individual training and development needs
Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress
Manage workshop standards in accordance with HSO requirements
Resolve customer issues in line with agreed standards and customer expectations
Manage any necessary liaison with department manager regarding customer dissatisfaction
Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators
Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards
Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge
The Person
An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual
Confident within a busy workshop and able to work efficiently under pressure
You must have experience within a workshop
Someone who has the ability to handle customer issues in a fair and assertive manner by phone and face-to-face
Someone who possesses excellent management skills
A clear communicator with a keen eye for detail
