Our client is an established Construction Consultancy located in the South East of England offering Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Project Management, Employer's Agent. Health and Safety and Environmental services across multiple sectors across the South East.

The Clerk of Works/Site Inspector will join a team undertaking inspections and monitoring of refurbishment and new build projects in London, the Home Counties and South-East Coast. You will need to have a good knowledge of construction, excellent communication skills and a 'can do' attitude be extremely organised, personable and have a keen attention to details. The role will be based from their Brighton office with work stretching from Crawley to the South Coast.

Requirements:-

-Becoming familiar with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and using them as a reference when inspecting the work.
-Experience in residential construction; houses and purpose built flats of varying ages.
-A wide understanding of the building industry including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements.
-Be attentive to detail when checking work and materials.
-Appreciation of asbestos awareness.
-Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, contractors and residents.
-Moderate IT skills, although all necessary training will be provided.

Education, Skills and Experience: -

-Craft or technician qualification as City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ Level 2/3 or BTEC/SQA National Award
-Membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works would be advantageous
-The ability to demonstrate significant experience in this type of role
-Experience of undertaking site inspection on residential properties
-Excellent report writing
-Knowledge of MS Word
