About the Job

Care UK currently delivers an Out of Hours (OOH) Service across the Suffolk region. The OOH service is an appointment based service that is accessed via the national NHS 111 service. Patients are assessed via the 111 team and if it’s clinically appropriate, they will get referred on to our OOH service.

We have a job opening for an Operations Supervisor to join our OOH team on a full-time permanent basis. As this job is working within an OOH service, you must be able to work during the evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Suffolk OOH consists of a number of Primary Care Centres listed below. You may be required to travel to these locations from time to time.

• Bury PCC, West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds
• Haverhill PCC, Haverhill Health Clinic, Haverhill
• Mildenhall PCC, Mildenhall Health Centre, Mildenhall
• Eye PCC, Hartismere Hospital, Eye
• Sudbury Community Health Centre, Sudbury
• Ipswich PCC, Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich
• Saxmundham
• Stowhealth Centre, Stowmarket

Within this job, you will be responsible for recruiting, supervising, monitoring and evaluating our Call Centre, Driver and Reception staff members via appraisals and audits, as well as arranging training and development activities for them. You will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the rota times to ensure the business needs and National Quality Requirements (NQR’s) are met.

The Requirements

In order for you to be considered for the job, as a minimum we are looking for you to:
• Have previous experience of managing a large team
• Have previously managed and improved processes
• Have a Customer Service background
• Have good general education
• Have good IT skills
• Have performance management skills
• Have supervisory experience in a similar operational service
• Effective communication skills

It would be nice for you to have any one of the below, although these are not essential:
• An ICOSH (Health & Safety) qualification
• Have knowledge of GP Out of Hours Services / NHS

This is a full time permanent job that is 37.5 hours per week. Dependant on experience, the salary for this job is from £24,000 - £26,000 per annum which includes on-call enhancements.
