Our client, an exceptional financial services organisation who operate globally, are looking for an experienced IT Service Delivery Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, to be responsible for the day to day operation and provision of IT services. The IT Service Delivery Manager - Key Responsibilities:

The job holder will be expected to define, introduce and operate appropriate service delivery processes, controls and metrics to develop an efficient and professional IT service delivery function IT Service Delivery and its stakeholders.

The job holder will have direct responsibility for the management and leadership of the IT Service desk, and application support teams. Effective management of internal and external IT suppliers will also be critical to ensure delivery of IT services.

  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant IT Frameworks and be responsible for the production and implementation of all necessary local IT policies and procedures to create a robust IT Service Delivery framework through which to deliver a high standard to IT services.
  • Lead and manage the internal IT Service Delivery teams including the IT Service Desk and Application support staff through performance management, coaching, mentoring and day to day direction.
  • Manage suppliers of technology services, including those delivered by internal shared services providers to ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreed SLAs and that they represent good value.
  • Pro-actively identify, assess, manage and report IT related risks. Plan and execute mitigation and contingency actions to help reduced unplanned impacts to internal systems.
  • Contribute to the design and application of robust IT (including Cyber) Security controls and processes to help maintain the integrity and reliability of systems and data.
  • Participate and contribute to the identification and selection of solutions and suppliers for new technology requirements, ensuring that appropriate service introduction standards and processes are followed.
  • Play an active role in the IT management team, providing in-depth technical expertise to support key business and IT decisions.
  • Manage and oversee all production systems, intervening where required to ensure achievement of required performance and availability SLAs.
  • Plan and manage the costs associated with the running and maintenance of systems, identifying opportunity to contain and manage cost through efficiency, strategic investment and replacement / retirement of legacy / end of life solutions and related infrastructure.

The IT Service Delivery Manager - Key Requirements:

Experience:

  • Demonstrable IT technical and service management experience.
  • Working in a formal structured environment, e.g. financial services, insurance or similar regulated industry.
  • Working in a complex IT environment comprising both internal and external IT providers.
  • Preferably practical experience of implementing or managing IT Service delivery using ITIL processes or similar.
  • Ability to manage small teams in a dynamic environment delivering business critical systems.
  • Strong technical IT skills, preferably with a background in managing the transition from legacy systems to more modern IT services delivered via a mix of suppliers and in a multi-mode environment delivering stable core systems whilst support innovation and digital transformation.
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure planning and operations, design, and deployment, as well as system life cycle management.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing the Production support and Service Delivery of business critical IT systems, preferably in a regulated Financial Services or Insurance environment.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective supplier relationships in complex multi-vendor outsourced / third party supplier delivery models.
  • Expertise in budget planning, financial management and resource management.
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of diverse scopes in a cross-functional environment.
