Our client is an international bank based in the heart of the City of London who require a Secretarial Support Worker to assist a recently hired member of staff both from a Secretarial perspective but also from a social care perspective.

The preferred candidate will need to complete a full security check (SC) before they can begin the role.

Overall Duties:

To provide practical, administrative and general support services to a visually impaired member of staff.
Experience of assisting others and using IT packages. Good interpersonal skills are required and experience of working with a partially sighted person would be desirable.

Main duties:
1. To assist with general PC management, such as calendar maintenance and other work related tasks.
2. To assist with ad hoc administrative duties as appropriate.
3. Type and edit notes into a suitable alternative format (i.e. large print; Screen reader) where required.
4. Proof read written communications (i.e. emails; minutes; presentation slides).
5. Type written communications from dictation (i.e. emails; minutes; presentation slides).
6. Read documentation to member of staff, ensuring material of any nature is read accurately, clearly and at a steady pace.
7. To guide staff member around the office and to off-site meetings and training courses using conventional guiding methods and providing general orientation around unfamiliar venues including locating toilets, catering facilities etc.
8. To assist at meetings and networking events by providing a cue for who is talking and reading name badges, etc.
9. Raise awareness of the needs of the member of staff if adaptations are required.
10. Maintaining professional confidentiality.

Requirements:
1. GCSE English Grade C or above, or equivalent work experience.
2. Experience of assisting others - guiding around building and other places of work as required.
3. Experience of Microsoft IT packages e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook.
4. Good interpersonal skills.
5. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
6. Flexibility to travel between office and external meetings
