This leading software development company in the financial services industry is looking to rapidly expand their team. As a member of the Development Team, you will take an active role in all stages of software system development projects, from the design phase through to implementation and support.


Your role will be to work with the Development team in designing, developing and supporting high quality software solutions for the Insurance and Financial sectors.

You will also have the opportunity to learn and enhance your development skills whilst working on future product upgrades as well as live support and maintenance of the current product suites.

You will be working with a modern and highly varied stack of technologies such as Java (J2EE), JavaScript, JQuery, JMS, HTML5, CSS, Maven, Spring MVC, Hibernate, web services, SQL, XML, XSD, JBoss, WebSphere.

Software development can cover a vast range of responsibilities, you will engage in various activities such as:

- Writing, developing, testing code to agreed product specifications
- Fixing faults in software
- Reviewing current systems
- Interpreting written business requirements (functional and technical)
- Writing technical design documentation
- Working closely with analysts, developers and users
- Engaging with our Clients to fix faults, find solutions and test them
- Working with other IT specialists both internally and externally
- Reviewing and testing the product in controlled, real situations before moving into live service
- Maintaining systems that are in live service.
- Ensuring the security and integrity of all systems and data

Key Skills

The ideal Graduate Java Developer will have some or all of the following skills/experience:

- Currently studying for a degree or have completed a Computer Science or equivalent
- A passion for technology, coding
- Knowledge of Core Java, Server Pages, JQuery and JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Knowledge of / interest in the financial services sector
- A keen problem solver
- Good team player
- Open to learning new skills
