This role is responsible for the support and maintenance of, but not limited to, the core infrastructure of hosted and/or managed services, networking equipment and related systems. You will provide troubleshooting, network monitoring, problem management, root cause analysis and fault management services and be responsible for the support and maintenance of virtualised systems. You will be involved in projects relating to the implementation of new systems & services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Actively manage and maintain tickets to ensure that they are responded to in a timely manner and according to agreed standards and procedures.
- Monitor and manage key systems and new system migration and upgrades.
- Provide technical on boarding for new customers.
- Maintenance of systems including physical installation of networking/server equipment in our data centre.
- Ensure a fully secure and protected networks and be responsible for aspects of security and configuration.
- Technical responsibility for the implementation and deployment of specific products and services as required.
- Provide an effective interface between customers and service providers.
- Willingness and flexibility to attend customer sites up and down the country, this may include travel and overnight stays.
- Provide out of hours support as required in support of customer business needs.

Skills & Qualifications - Applicants should have a working knowledge in some or all of the below

- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
- Microsoft and networking accreditations (e.g. MCSA or MCSE on server track, CCNA, Network+).
- Experience of managing firewalls and switches.
- Experience managing a virtualised hosting environment, including VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience managing iSCSI based SAN storage.
- Experience of managing a 2008/2012 Active Directory environment, with in depth knowledge of Group Policy.
- Experience managing systems using the following key technologies:Windows Server: DHCP, DNS, Failover Clustering, DFS, MDT, WDS, Networking & firewall management: Cisco IOS & FortiOS, Backup: Veeam B&R , Windows Backup, Attix Backup, Storage: Dell EqualLogic (iSCSI), Wireless: Cisco Aironet, Meraki Wireless, Phone systems: Microsoft Lync, Avaya IP Office, Gamma Horizon, Software: Sharepoint, Exchange (2003-2013), SQL Server, Cloud services: Office 365, Azure, AWS, Windows Intune, Relevant support experience in an ITIL based service desk environment.
