An award winning family/divorce solicitors, based in the heart of St Albans, is currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Manager to work on either a full or part-time basis. The successful candidate will provide strategic support with business planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management as well as preparing the annual budget.

Key Tasks:

- Preparation of ad-hoc reports, as requested, to provide the Director with regular financial and management information
- Manage and ensure effective and efficient accounting operations including, but not limited to, payroll, accounts payable, VAT, billing, accounts receivables and cash management.
- Responsibility for cash management including maintaining bank accounts, authorised signatories, recording of cash receipts, management of petty cash, client trust processes and procedures.
- Monthly bank reconciliations for all client accounts
- Ensuring clients receive receipts in respect of payments made
- Prepare cash statements for clients as required
- Maintain all client account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules including designated deposit accounts
- Sending wire payments and inter-account transfers via Internet Banking
- Dealing with accounting queries and assisting Partners, Associates and secretaries in that regard.
- Liaise with the firm's auditors in relation to the Solicitors Accounts Rules annual audit
- Act as deputy COFA

Key Skills & Attributes:

- Minimum 5 years finance/accounts management experience in a law firm
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with good knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, Solicitors Code of Conduct and Anti Money Laundering Requirements

Salary is competitive and holiday entitlement generous. This position could be full time or part time. If part time, the successful candidate would be expected to work between 25 - 35 hours per week, spread over 4-5 days.
