Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience) OTE £6000+ per annum

This independent retailer specialising in mobile gadgets and peripherals rolling out stores across the UK is looking for the very best people to take the lead in their teams.

The opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Retail Area Manager to look after the existing estate of 6 stores. Located throughout London and the Greater London Area the stores are in predominantly in Tier 1 shopping malls.

They are seeking an established Area Manager to boost their retail business to the next level. Your inspirational leadership will have a hand in the success of their business as a whole. You will guide and build a team of Store Managers whose job it is to ensure their customers have a great experience in their stores. Using your experience, enthusiasm and all-round excellence to encourage them to achieve greater things. Motivating them with new ideas and fresh outlook.

Skills/Experience:
- Effective leadership and communication skills demonstrated across all levels.
- Ability to drive and motivate performance through effective coaching skills.
- Excellent commercial understanding with proven track record of delivering financial performance, managing KPIs and compliance.
- Self-driven and passionate about retailing.
- Able to build relationships and relates well to all kinds of people.
- Willing and able to travel to support the area when required.
- Actively drives own personal development as well as that of the team

What you'll do:
- Motivate and lead a retail business.
- Be accountable for the overall commercial performance of the company
- Get the best out of every team manager by listening, coaching, supporting and developing them.
- Deliver a brilliant customer experience.
- Look for ways to ways to reach out and connect with the local community.
- Ensure all stores are fully staffed and open. Managing rota's, annual leave and sickness.
- Manage recruitment with the HR team.

You will definitely:
- Have previous retail management experience necessary to run a retail estate.
- Bring in depth experience of HR and operational processes.
- Have strong people management experience and know how to carry out personal development plans, staff training sessions and performance management.
- Know how to create a real buzz around sales to get your team charging through their targets.
