About the Role
The role is a hands-on, practical position which involves attending properties damaged by flooding, fire, mould or which were the scene of trauma. You will initially assist trained technicians in scoping the site and conducting relevant tests to determine the degree of damage, constructing a plan for remediation, estimating the price of works, setting up and monitoring the recovery process, and writing detailed, technical reports on the works conducted and the state of the property. Once trained, you will undertake these tasks as the lead technician.
The standard working hours will be 09.00 to 17.00 from Monday to Friday, with regular need to begin earlier and finish later than those hours. An 'on-call' rota means that you may have to work on weekends, at night or on some bank holidays, although you would receive an enhanced rate of pay for any such work.
Relevant training will be provided.
About You
You will have:
- A minimum of three A-Levels at grade 'C' or above or equivalent.
- A preparedness to, as business needs require, work outside of the standard 09.00 to 17.00 hours and to work across the UK, which may involve spending periods away from home.
- The capability to spend prolonged periods lifting and moving heavy items and operating heavy equipment.
You will ideally have:
- A full category 'B' or equivalent driving license, with the ability to drive manual vehicles.
About the Benefits
- The annual salary is around £16,000. Earnings are not capped and, with enhanced out-of-hours rates and commissions, the total remuneration package could typically be expected to be around £20,000, depending on the number of hours worked. Once fully trained, earning potential could typically be expected to be £30,000-£35,000.
- 28 days of holiday including bank holidays is offered.
