This academy seeks an enthusiastic, pro-active and confident non-teaching Head of House to join the established and welcoming pastoral team in Student Services. The successful applicant will work to secure the effective care of the social, emotional and learning needs of all individual students within their House, removing barriers to learning and promoting the ethos of a happy academy where everyone succeeds.

You will have a passion for continuous improvement, high expectations and very high standards of performance. This opportunity will excite those who believe that anyone can excel and that everyone deserves the best.

The academy is 20 minutes by train from London Euston and enjoys a leafy setting close to the urban environment of Watford. It has a strong vision and ethos which has led to a rapid expansion in student numbers and impressive examination results. They have a positive reputation in the local area, benefit from strong parental support, are heavily oversubscribed and moved into their double award winning £30 million new building in January 2013. In December 2013 Ofsted judged The academy to be 'Good' in every category, while the Education Business Awards recognised them as an 'Outstanding Academy'. They are a case study with the Department for Education twice over, and have been recognised for their good practice by both the Office of the Schools Commissioner and the Local Authority. They are consistently in the top 20% of schools nationally for pupil progress and, most importantly, students and staff at the academy share a commitment to its success and are "Proud to belong".

The academy has an active wellbeing committee and was recognised in 2015 with the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award. All colleagues benefit from free gym membership, Employee Assistance and also have the opportunity to exchange ideas and develop their careers through the Meller Educational Trust.
