A unique opportunity for an experienced analogue and digital design engineer to lead the hardware development of a wireless Internet of Things business at the cutting edge of subsea technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of analogue and digital hardware systems and integration with sensors
- Contributing to full development life-cycle from requirements capture to final delivery
- Design of analogue circuits including signal filtering, small signals amplifiers and Power Amps
- Design build and debug prototype hardware.
- Schematic Capture and Create Bills of Material.
- Create Library Components.
- Working with systems, software and mechanical engineers to ensure successful overall product design.
- Design to meet relevant reliability and design standards.
- Support manufacturing during new product introduction.
- Documents for manufacturing and prepare modification's instructions.
- Field testing of new designs and recording performance.
- Prepare Design specifications & test procedures.

Required Background
- Expert in analogue design at PCB level including amplifiers, signal conditioning circuits and power supply design
- Mixed signal circuit design including A/D and D/A converters
- Digital circuit design including microcontrollers and peripherals
- Understanding of communications fundamentals
- Electronics prototyping, test and debug

- RF circuit and antenna design
- Knowledge of the physics of electromagnetic fields and their propagation
- Embedded microcontroller firmware development in C
- Serial communications (e.g. RS232 / 485; SPI; I2C)
- Knowledge of PCB layout principles
- Experience of field testing

Education and experience
- 1st Class or 2.1 Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years professional experience designing analogue and digital communications hardware.
