This is an opportunity to join an award winning UK textile innovator, independently owned, specialising in the design & manufacture of contract upholstery fabrics for commercial interiors and mass passenger transport. The company is based in the UK's West Yorkshire textile heartland, with additional manufacturing in Lithuania and Nottingham, from where it extends global reach into some 80 countries worldwide via established offices, warehousing and distribution channels in Europe, North America, China and Australia. The company sells over 8 million metres of fabric a year for use in commercial offices, banks, government departments, universities, NHS, cinema, auditoria and transportation applications in buses, coaches, trains and underground.

To complete the accurate recording and preparation of all samples entering the Laboratory for test as per the appropriate standard. To maintain the conditioning room to ensure ease of sample storage and prepare test documentation as required.

1. Accurate preparation of all samples, including those for external testing, and completion of associated documentation as per the standard/ work instruction, ensuring deadlines are met and samples are labelled correctly allowing testing processes to be carried out efficiently.
2. Create and maintain templates for the cutting machine to ensure that machine use is optimised and waste is minimised for all samples.
3. Monitor waste and document accurate fabric test quantity requirements to ensure sustainability in the department in order to ensure that remnant fabric does not remain in the laboratory.
4. Create, implement and maintain a storage system for sample conditioning to enable ease of access for analysts.
5. Support the analysts in the effective routine testing of fabrics in order to guarantee that all fabrics sold have been tested at regular intervals, ensuring due diligence and product conformity.
6. Implement a consumables stock audit and maintain stocks as required. Ensure that required documentation is in place for all chemicals and that they are stored correctly. Complete and document consumable conformity checks.
7. Conduct Laboratory testing to support the analysts as and when required to ensure service level agreements are met. Update testing databases with results where required.

Education & Experience
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths & English
- Knowledge of woven fabrics would be an advantage
- Experience of using a cutting machine and/or working in a Laboratory would be an advantage
- Good software skills - Microsoft Word and Excel
