Field Support Engineer

A Field Support Engineer / Installation Technician is needed to join a leading provider of on-site communications and hospitality management solutions. If you are tech savvy and have some experience of installing onsite systems then we would love to hear from you (full product training is provided).

With a diverse range of cutting edge communication systems, this innovative supplier has provided solutions to over 15,000 customers across a range of industries (Retail, Hotels, Commercial) for over two decades. Due to unprecedented growth they are now seeking a Field Support Engineer / Installation Technician to support clients across the midlands and occasionally the South West and the North.

Joining as a Field Support Engineer / Installation Technician you will assist the existing team with the installation of communication solutions as well as hardware and software used in Restaurants. Whether you are attending service calls within agreed timelines; completing product training; installing general cabling (containment, telephony, data, coaxial antenna); ensuring client paperwork is completed or providing 2nd line support to customers, you will play a vital role installing systems and maintaining a first class service.

To qualify. You should be a Field Support Engineer / Installation Technician / Onsite Service Engineer / Site Technician / Field Service Engineer / Customer Support Technician / Maintenance Support Engineer or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

  • An understanding of and experience in installing onsite systems in particular low voltage electrical systems;
  • The ability to work on your own initiative in a professional manner;
  • The ability to build rapport and communicate easily with people at all levels;
  • An understanding of Windows (XP, 7, 10) and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.);
  • That you are unfazed by visiting clients across the Midlands and the UK (a full UK driving licence will be required).

A basic understanding of IT networks would be advantageous but is not essential.

Due to the nature of the role longer hours may be required. Including early and late starts, weekends (once a month) / bank holidays and overnight stays.
