The basics

Location: Alfreton

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Salary: up to £28,000

Role: Temp – Permanent

Holidays: 28 rising to 33 days (When permanently employed)

Benefits: profit related pay paid in July. Sick pay, Pension, Death in service, Private medical health (When permanently employed)

The role in brief:

To purchase all materials to aid manufacture.

Aided by an purchasing administrator you will report into the General Manager for the plant.

Responsible for all materials and supplier management.

The ideal Purchasing Officer/Buyer will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:

* Previous experience in a Purchasing/Buying role.

* The ability to manage the buying process with a strong focus on ensuring materials are delivered on time

* Any SAGE Experience advantageous

* Understanding of ERP/MRP or similar supply chain systems

* Proficient Microsoft Office use – Strong Excel skills

* A purchasing background within a manufacturing/production/engineering environment highly beneficial

* Strong analytical skills

Accountabilities

Stock, Product Availability and Control

* Monitor and maintain stocks of all materials required to manufacture

* Periodic stock checks.

Relationships with Supply Chain Partners

* Develop and maintain positive relationships with supply chain partners

* Query deliveries late to order to ensure subsequent risk does not take place.

* Build and sustain close relationships with external and internal customers.
