Our client is an intellectual property and chemical technology group focused on the transformation of wood through acetylation. The Group’s head office is based in London, UK and it has an processing plant, distribution centre, sales office, R&D dept., engineering dept. and laboratory in Arnhem, Netherlands; a new plant under construction in Hull, UK; and a sales office in Dallas, USA. The Company has nearly 200 employees globally and is in a growth phase with significant production capacity investment underway in the UK and Netherlands.

Role Summary:

In support of our clients growth strategy and future plant expansions, undertake a holistic procurement role to deliver greater value.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

* Managing end to end procurement processes, incorporating sourcing; supplier relationship, performance, contract and risk management; for activities initiated by procurement or the business

* Developing and delivering processes, procedures and training, and providing guidance to the organisation

* Gathering and analysing data, making recommendations and delivering implementation

* Management of information such as new suppliers, due diligence information, catalogue content, contracts database

Qualification / Experience Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree (or higher) or equivalent

* Proven and broad experience of end to end procurement, with a background in an industrial, manufacturing or engineering sector with specific experience of capex purchasing an advantage, particularly in a project environment. Experience of a broad range of indirect categories, to support on-going business, desirable.

* MCIPS

* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant procurement function

* Clear presentation skills, written and verbal, with experience of presenting successfully to Board and Senior Management level colleagues

* Well-honed persuasion and influencing skills, and strong negotiation skills

* Persistent and durable, able to take setbacks and do the right thing for the organisation as a whole

* Demonstrable drive, ambition and vision

* Organised, structured and results/execution focussed

* Accuracy and attention to detail

* Proven supplier relationship management skills

* Proven supplier evaluation skills

* High level of numeracy

* Must be computer literate, including a detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of procurement systems an advantage
